Damage is when a car gets smashed by other cars in the race. Pit stops are usually needed so need to be in there in time before you go back onto the Track.
The Game also Features Pit stops like in TOCA Race Driver 2 (DTM Race Driver 2) to get going with new stuff onto the Vehicle.
It is also possible to unlock series with the online mode of the game. There is also an online mode for various platforms in which you can race a number (the actual number of people you can race depends on the platform used) of other online players to win points. While "Pro-Career" mode is more detailed, with over 150 cups to win. "World Tour" is where the player progresses through 32 tiers of different disciplines, the player is coached by a man called "Rick" via the game's cut-scenes (the cut-scenes can be viewed again via the "Extras" menu). The game's single player mode is split into 2 different modes, "World Tour" and "Pro-Career". One of the features is the possibility of driving F1 cars, like the '05 Williams. The game has many real-life competitions, like British GT, DTM, IRL and have vintage races, some old GT and rally cars. It received good reviews, frequently being compared favourably to Gran Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsport, in the aspects of cars on track, damage and AI.
This series is the only current racing simulator that allows PlayStation players to race on-line. Up to 12 players are supported via Xbox Live and the PlayStation 2 version supports up to 8 on-line.
Open wheel, GT, Oval racing, Rallying and Offroad racing were all featured, and can be raced in either a detailed Pro Career mode or an open-ended World Tour. The most recent TOCA game was released in February 2006, and continued to expand on the types of motorsport available. They can be unlocked by winning cups in Pro Career Normal or Hard and Set a Fast Lap Time Record on a Course in one of the Championships in The Game. They take place in UK, Germany and many more of the track's places. Also it has Bonus Championships in different disciplines.
It includes 120 Championships and about 35 Types of Racing through the Championships in World Tour, Pro Career and Free Race. Thats just wrong. The game features several fully licenced championships, including the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters|DTM series and V8 Supercar championship. But I dont see how Codemasters have the nerve to post prerendered screenshots of RD3 and misleading customers to think the game will actually look that way based on the demo. If its more of the same I'll be happy with it. I'll probly get RD3 anyway as I really liked RD2. And I HATED being back or in the middle of the grid, no option for qualifying in the championship. Theres no option to increase laps in the championship unlike the Free race mode where you can tune and tweak (albeit simply) your cars. One thing I disliked about Toca2 was that laps were limited to 2-5 rounds until the near end when they increase to 6-9 laps in the Masters Grand Prix. I do look forward to the variety of races in Toca3, like the ATV races. The FordGT doesnt really sound anything like RD2's version imo. It'd be nice if RD3 had more realistic sounds. Most of the sounds in RD2 were recycled and pitchshifted for different cars. I really like race sims with ACCURATE engine sounds. The engine sounds seem slightly more hifi and detailed, and RD2 had pretty nice engine sounds (for the most part, some sounded like scratching records). I've never driven one so I cant vouch for its realism, but it does seem sluggish and heavy. The controls are great from a gamepad standpoint, the handling in the Civic is crap though. The goddamn demo doesnt even remember my gamepad settings, and I need to remap them each time. Console inpsired, yet doesnt work with my 360 gamepad (afaik). The menu is typical shit from Codemasters. But for those with more muscle in their rigs should have much better graphics options, like those seen in the shots. But RD3 has little improvement which is fine for me as unlike Most Wanted, RD2/3 run excellent on my rig. I love the details like the sunglare and glow from cars in the sunlight, and the road textures when the sun shines down on the street. I loved RD2's graphics, sharp and clean and get an excellent framerate. It doesnt look much different than RD2, perhaps a bit crisper and slightly more detailed cars. I downloaded the demo a while back, and its certaintly no where near as impressive as the fake photoshopped screenshots lead you to believe.
